Article Summary

In his post titled “Half of U.S. states raising minimum wage in 2022,” Sean Salai makes
the case that minimum-wage employees will receive larger paychecks in 2022 as more than ten
states gradually increase company salary standards. Most states, including the District of
Columbia, have raised the federal minimum wage for non-tipped workers from its 2009 level of
$7.25 per hour to at least $10 per hour. Earlier this year, the laws became operative in 20 states,
including Florida. Late this year also increased its minimum wage from $12.50 to $13.20 per
hour.
